Hey there, what’s up? Hope you are having a blessed day!
My name is Scott Marshall, and I serve as the pastor of Northern Light Church here in St. Helen, Michigan. My calling is simple: preach the truth of God’s Word with clarity, conviction, and zero compromise. I’m not interested in religious rituals, church games, or spiritual theatrics. Scripture was written for real people, dealing with real life, and it is anything but confusing when we actually read it, believe it, and apply it.
I preach the way I believe the Bible was meant to be preached — directly, honestly, and with the urgency eternity deserves. I don’t sugarcoat, I don’t water down, and I don’t apologize for the parts of Scripture that confront us. God didn’t give us His Word so we could tiptoe around people’s feelings; He gave it to us so we could be transformed.
I am married to Carrie, and together we have a blended family of nine grown children — my six and her three. Our story is full of grace, second chances, and reminders that God works powerfully through imperfect people who are willing to follow Him. My family has shaped the way I preach, the way I lead, and the way I see people who walk through the doors of our church — not as projects, but as souls who matter to God.
Outside of ministry, I own Scotteez Apparel & More, a custom-apparel business serving schools, churches, and organizations across Michigan. It keeps me grounded in the community and gives me constant opportunities to shine the light of Christ outside the pulpit. Whether I’m printing shirts, preaching sermons, or sitting across from someone who’s trying to find their way back to God, my purpose is the same: point people to Jesus.
Everything I do — Sunday services, Wednesday Wisdom, outreach, jail ministry, our young adult discipleship, and even the online content we produce — exists to help people understand Scripture plainly, live it boldly, and walk in a real relationship with Christ. No religion. No empty tradition. No performative Christianity. Just the truth of God’s Word and the life-changing power of Jesus.
If you’re looking for entertainment, emotional fluff, or a pastor who tiptoes around culture, you probably won’t enjoy me. But if you’re hungry for the truth, if you’re tired of the confusion and contradictions of modern Christianity, and if you’re ready to actually follow Jesus — then welcome. There’s a place for you here.
