The Action Bible

This Christmas, our church had the privilege of adopting a local family. Along with gifts, we wanted to make sure every child in the home received something that would last far beyond the holiday season—a Bible they would actually want to open and read. That decision led us to The Action Bible, and it’s easy to see why this Bible has become a favorite for families around the world.

The Action Bible isn’t a “children’s Bible” in the sense of watered-down stories or simplified truths. Instead, it presents the full scope of Scripture—from Genesis to Revelation—through 230 chronologically ordered stories, told in a visually engaging, comic-book style. The artwork is vivid, expressive, and detailed, helping young readers see the movement, emotion, and urgency of the biblical narrative. For kids who struggle with long blocks of text, this format removes a major barrier and invites them into God’s Word in a way that feels accessible and exciting.

What makes this Bible especially effective is that it doesn’t sacrifice substance for style. Call-out boxes throughout the pages add helpful context and explanations, helping readers understand what’s happening and why it matters. The stories clearly highlight God’s faithfulness, the life and ministry of Jesus, and the courage of biblical heroes—always pointing back to God’s redemptive work and His desire for relationship with His people. Every page encourages curiosity and invites deeper engagement with Scripture, rather than replacing it.

For parents, grandparents, and churches looking for a way to put the Bible into children’s hands without making it feel intimidating or boring, The Action Bible is an excellent choice. It sparks interest, opens the door to meaningful conversations, and helps kids begin building a foundation in God’s Word that can grow with them. Seeing the excitement on a child’s face when they open Scripture is a reminder that God’s Word is alive—and sometimes, presentation helps open the door.
