Law, Love, and the Lie of Righteous Rage

This sermon confronts the modern habit of twisting Scripture to justify anger, chaos, and dehumanization, while ignoring the full counsel of God’s Word. Walking through passages from Genesis, Leviticus, Romans, Judges, the Psalms, and the Gospels, we examine how Scripture holds law and love together, why God is a God of order—not confusion—and how civil unrest is often the fruit of rejecting God-given authority.

We also address how people are reduced to categories instead of treated as image-bearers, why dehumanization always precedes violence, and how Jesus Himself responded to corrupt leadership—not with mobs or uprising, but with obedience, truth, and the cross.

This message is not about defending politics or attacking people. It is about defending biblical truth, calling the church to faithfulness, and pointing to the only hope that can truly heal a broken world.

Civil unrest is not the answer.
Outrage is not redemptive.
And no policy, protest, or politician can change the human heart.

Only Christ can.

Scripture referenced includes: Genesis 1, Leviticus 19, Numbers 15, Judges 17 & 21, Psalm 139, Romans 13, 1 Peter 2, James 1, and multiple Gospel passages.
