The Seven Last Words
The Seven Last Words is a message preached from the cross.
In His final hours, Jesus did not speak randomly or emotionally. Every word He spoke was intentional, revealing the heart of God and the purpose of the cross. These seven statements are not isolated sayings — together, they form one complete message about forgiveness, salvation, suffering, redemption, and trust.
This sermon walks through each of the seven last words of Jesus, showing how they reveal what salvation truly means and what was accomplished through His death. From forgiveness offered to sinners, to salvation given by faith, to the declaration that the work is finished, the cross speaks with clarity and authority.
This message also ties the words of the cross to the gospel itself, connecting them to passages like John 3:16 and Romans 10:9 to show how the cross calls each of us to respond — not by earning, striving, or fixing ourselves, but by trusting in what Christ has already done.
The cross is not just where Jesus died.
It is where sin lost, death was defeated, and hope was secured.
