I know my posts of late still boggle some of my friends and families minds. Some see me as out of character. I hope that my over enthusiastic display of faith does not create a discomfort that pushes you away from open mindedness. I believe many of us reject God and His law because we think it comes with outrageous expectations. But it truly doesn’t. If you want to fix your life, experience some peace and know that there is hope beyond life you can do so and you do not have to be as outwardly as me. This is my choice. You do not have to preach, you do not have to start wearing religious jewelry, you don’t have to carry your bible with you everywhere, you don’t have to restrain your converstions with others to your faith. But I bet when you do finally submit to truth you will feel a burning desire to reach others because you care about what happens to them. I am still just a local small business owner and community member, a dad and a husband. That is my place in this world with one addition…I am a saved man blessed with the anticipation and expectation of an undeserving eternal life. My pastor, who began as a marriage counselor for me, is truly my brother in Christ and he saved me by showing me. He didn’t have to. He had nothing to lose or gain. I truly want to share that same experience with others. No judgement, no disdain, no demand…I just care. None of my actions to share with you are what will provide me with eternal salvation. “Works” are a way to honor God’s law not a way to bribe Him for your salvation. Salvation has been paid for by the crucifiction of Jesus. The wages for our sins is paid and salvation is a free gift if you just ask. We see displays of the cross throughout the world but many of those displays are glitzy and fancy looking. Understand that Jesus’ was not on a fancy display but rather hung in a shameful, humiliating way and died a gruesome death so that you and I may be saved. The image I attached is gruesome but do not look away. Look at what He endured for us. Let that sink in then ask yourself if a man could endure that for us do we not owe it to Him to understand why?
