Today my problems and struggles seem very minor as I watch others face much larger trials. Join me in prayer for the parents of Tyler Silva, his siblings, his wife and child and his many family members and friends. The fragile nature of our hearts are revealed when a life is lost so young. And as we struggle to understand we cling to the faith that God has a purpose and Tyler is at peace in God’s presence.

Joe, April, Sara, DJ and the rest of your family I hurt for you. You are living one of my biggest fears as a dad. Please know so many are feeling your pain and loss today. God can be confusing but know that God is great. The purpose for your pain will be revealed one day and through your salvation you will one day embrace Tyler again. This is His promise. “We who are still alive will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air” (1 Thessalonians 4:17). We all share a common bond in sorrow, loss and hope.

And DJ, I know you are struggling with multiple trials right now. Know that there are many, including myself, that are here for you. Remember, it does not take blood to be family but rather love. We are here for you, I am here for you…anytime. Your brother will always be visible in you for all of us to cherish.
