Rise Early and Stand in Faith: See You at the Pole

See you at the pole

See you at the pole-Our kids need all the prayer they can get!

See You at the Pole isn’t just another event. It’s a moment where students get to take a stand—not with a sign, a protest, or a clever hashtag—but by doing something that might just be the most countercultural thing you can do these days: praying in public. Imagine that for a second. In a world that’s pushing us to be loud and angry, to fight and debate, there’s something incredibly powerful about standing together in humility, calling out to God in unity. This isn’t about showing off; it’s about showing up.

If you’re a student, this is your moment. You know the world is a mess—everybody knows it. From shootings in schools to confusion about what truth even means anymore, it feels like chaos is winning. But it’s not. You, standing at that flagpole, are proof that hope isn’t dead. And if you think one little prayer gathering won’t change anything, remember this: “The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective” (James 5:16). You don’t have to fix the world—God handles that—but He’s asking you to step up and be part of His solution. That starts with prayer. You don’t need permission. You don’t need to be a pastor. You just need to show up, lift your voice, and watch what God does with your boldness.

Parents, don’t think this is just for the kids. They’re watching you. If they see you passionate about your faith, they’ll see that this isn’t just some routine thing we do once a year. It’s part of a bigger story that you’re inviting them into. Get to that flagpole, join them, even if it feels uncomfortable. Even if people are driving by, wondering what’s going on. Your willingness to stand out might just be the encouragement some student needs to keep going, to know they’re not alone. Proverbs 22:6 says, “Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old, he will not depart from it.” This is how you train them—not by telling them what to do, but by showing them what it looks like to live boldly for God.

Teachers, staff, anyone in the school system—this is your chance, too. The world has told you to keep your faith in a box somewhere. Don’t let it leak into the classroom, right? But you know better. You know how much these students need hope, how much they’re struggling with the weight of life, even at a young age. You’ve seen it. So maybe you can’t lead the charge, but you can sure stand with them. Pray for these kids, not just because it’s a good thing to do, but because “where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them” (Matthew 18:20). You are standing on holy ground when you gather with them in prayer.

Community members, don’t think this event is limited to those within the school walls. This is a call for all of us to come together. Whether you have kids in school or not, whether you’re a teacher or not, the future of this generation matters to all of us. When you show up, you send a message that you care about the next generation, that their faith matters, and that we believe in the power of prayer. You’re not just spectators—you’re part of the body of Christ, and this is your opportunity to engage with the community around you in a way that actually makes a difference.

See You at the Pole is not just a flagpole event. It’s a reminder that we’re in this together, that we’re fighting spiritual battles that require spiritual solutions. And let’s be honest, this world needs more than just good intentions or political fixes. It needs people who are willing to come together in prayer and declare that God is still God, that He is still working, and that we’re not giving up on the next generation. “If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land” (2 Chronicles 7:14).

This year’s See You at the Pole is happening on September 25th at 7:00am. The only question left is: Will you rise early to stand for Christ? It’s more than just an event. It’s a declaration. Set that alarm, wake up, and be there. The world might not understand, but you’re not doing it for them. You’re doing it for the One who gave it all. See you at the pole—because prayer still works, and God’s not done yet.
