Went and sat through Sound Of Freedom again so two more of my kids could watch it. If anyone tells you that you shouldn’t take your kids I disagree wholeheartedly. The movie is not graphic but the story is so important. One of the most disturbing statistics is that the United States is at the top of the list in CONSUMERS for child sex slaves.
I do not remember how old I was but I would guess between 8 and 10. I went on a school trip downstate to the Shriner’s Circus. After the circus was over we went out in the entryway with the crowd and I went to the restroom. While in there a man took hold of my hand very casually as if he was going to just walk me out of there. I pulled away and ran to my group. I never said anything. I guess it was traumatic and confusing and since I was safe I just went back to the group and went home. This was 40 years ago! Evil has always been among us. I believe it is just more visible today with modern technology. But it could be getting worse. Society has leaned on the evil in this world so much that God is actually offensive to people. And that blows my mind. All the while our unsuspecting, innocent youth are preyed upon, decieved and led down destructive paths.
But hey what do I know. It took me over 40 foolish, arrogant years of ignoring what I was told to actually look into life myself. It took me decades to realize that religion and the bible were not the same and that much evidence through science, archaeology, and historical documents have proven the truth in the bible. But I liked my sinful ways. I didn’t want to know because then I might have to look in the mirror. Well I finally did look in the mirror and I did not actually like what was looking back at me. The good news is God hates sin but He loves the sinner. And now I am His and no longer fear my last day here. I do not deserve his mercy and grace and never will but He offers it freely to us all.
Lord father thank you for your mercy and grace. Thank you for your forgiveness. Please protect our children and open all of our eyes to the destruction that we cause through society that leads to these situations. Lord guide us away from the enemy and into your hands. Amen.
